Quality of life

Quality of life involves Värmland having to offer lots of different opportunities to allow people to live well, allowing them to develop and grow. Maintaining a creative and open environment, a broad range of services and a housing market that works well will improve our chances of enticing new people to come and live and work in Värmland. It is becoming more and more common for lifestyle and a good living environment to determine where people are choosing to live.

 

Good interaction between town and country is important so that attractive homes and business opportunities can be offered out in the countryside. An attractive place to live, good public health, flourishing culture and environmentally sustainable society are all things we consider to be vital to a decent quality of life.

 

We are developing and making the most of the attractive living environment in the region: both the urban lifestyle and in the countryside. We are working to develop our culture both as a business sector and as a way of encouraging people to develop their creativity. By maintaining and refining our natural assets and cultural life, we will develop our tourism and underpin the Värmland identity.

 

We would like to see more people being able to take part in various cultural initiatives. In Värmland, we have to do more to improve public health. Among other things, we have to work to prevent illness and help people outside the labour market to get back onto the jobs ladder. We are working to make Värmland greener and more climate-friendly by means of initiatives such as society planning, where we are focusing on improving public transport, reducing energy consumption and utilising renewable energy.
