Look over your image bank

Many organisations and companies have images that can be used in different contexts – for example on the web, in social media, for newsletters, reports, and invitations.

Make a practice of regularly looking through your image bank. We have many tips on photography, images, and other visual communication.

Discuss

Look at your image bank from a holistic approach and ask yourself control questions.

  • How are men and women portrayed in our images?
  • How is the interplay between men and women when they are in the same image? Who is active, who is passive? Is their relationship perceived as equal? What are they looking at?
  • Do our images depict gender equality, diversity, and equity?
  • Does the image bank live up to the values of the organisation or company?
  • What images are missing in our image bank?

Do the following

Except deleting the images that have passed the expiration date, remove the images that you do not think live up to your ambitions for gender equality, diversity, and equity. Make a list of new images that are needed in the archive for you to feel content with the totality.

What does the images say?
